Archer Building Consultancy Ltd successfully obtained funding for Alec Hunter Academy via the 'Academies Capital Maintenance Fund' to remove all of the old timber and 'Crittall' window systems and replace with new 'Comar' aluminium powder coated double glazed units, in full compliance with the current Building Regulations. The works also included removal of the existing cementitious board cladding, containing asbestos, with replacement undertaken in 'Trespa' reflecting the school colours.
Due to funding timescales, the project was successfully undertaken whilst the academy was operational, with an agreed decanting schedule.
